Iris is now part of Audinate

On 21 July 2025, Audinate Group Limited (ASX: AD8), the company behind Dante, the industry-leading media networking platform for professional AV, completed its acquisition of Iris Studio Inc.

For our team, this is more than a company milestone. It is a meaningful moment in a story that began with a simple belief: professional camera control should be easier, more open, and accessible to every team that needs it.

Every camera connected, every production run, and every piece of feedback helped shape the platform into what it is today. What started as an idea for a better way to control cameras has grown into a platform used across brands, workflows, and locations around the world.

Joining Audinate gives that work a bigger home. Iris is now part of one of the world's most established professional AV ecosystems, with greater scale, reach, and expertise behind our mission. At the same time, Iris continues under the Iris brand at tryiris.ai, built for the people and partners who have supported us from the beginning.

Why Iris and Audinate

"At Iris, we set out to rethink AV device control — intelligent, intuitive, and accessible from anywhere," said Noah Johnson, founder of Iris, in the original acquisition announcement.

Professional production is filled with great hardware, yet controlling it can still mean learning a different interface for every camera, relying on specialized equipment, or being physically present just to make a simple adjustment.

We believed there was a better way. Iris gives teams one browser-based platform for camera movement, intelligent framing, image adjustments, monitoring, collaboration, and remote access. It works with the cameras and controllers teams already own, helping people spend less time managing complexity and more time creating great productions.

Audinate has spent two decades making professional AV devices easier to connect and manage over networks. Dante is now used across millions of devices in production, broadcast, corporate, education, houses of worship, sports, and entertainment environments around the world.

The fit is natural: Iris brings software-based camera control and automation; Audinate brings a global AV ecosystem, deep networking expertise, and long-term relationships with manufacturers and customers.

What this means for Iris users

Iris remains Iris. Existing users can continue to access Iris Studio, connect cameras through Iris Bridge, and use Iris-Enabled cameras through the same Iris platform.

• The same Iris experience. Control, monitor, and manage cameras from a browser, whether your production is local, remote, or a combination of both.
• Broad camera compatibility. Iris remains manufacturer-agnostic and now supports more than 400 camera models, including models from Canon, Sony, PTZOptics, Lumens, BirdDog, Marshall, Telycam, AIDA, and many more.
• Support for existing workflows. Use Iris alongside the controllers, switchers, streaming tools, and production systems your team already knows.
• More resources behind the platform. As part of Audinate, Iris can draw on deeper engineering, industry, and manufacturer expertise as the platform continues to grow.

What this means for camera manufacturers

Iris has always been built as an open platform for the professional camera industry. Through Iris Enabled, manufacturers can integrate Iris directly into camera firmware, giving customers browser-based control, monitoring, and remote access without requiring a separate onsite computer.

Joining Audinate expands the ecosystem around that work. It gives Iris a stronger foundation for supporting existing camera partners, developing new integrations, and helping manufacturers add ongoing software value to their devices.
